C. Nicole Mason: Impact of the Pandemic on Women’s Work and Wellbeing

March 3 at 4:00 pm5:30 pm

The Social Sciences Forum presents the annual Korenman Lecture, featuring C. Nicole Mason, president and CEO of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, who will speak on the Impact of the Pandemic on Women’s Work and Wellbeing.

Recently named one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune magazine, C. Nicole Mason is the president and chief executive officer of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR). Having stepped into the role in 2019, she is the youngest person to head up an inside-the-beltway think tank, and she is one of the few women of color to do so. Her two decades of research has focused on economic security, poverty, racial equity, and political participation among women, and communities of color. Under her leadership, the Institute has been a leading source of empirical data on the impacts of the pandemic of women’s labor force participation, economic insecurity, and overall well-being. Mason’s talk will focus on the pandemic recession, which she has labeled a ‘she-cession.’
