In science, a catalyst incites reaction. John Gornto, artist and aerospace engineer, works in the Baltimore area. He creates artworks that react to his personal struggles and to his environment. Over 15 artworks, both large and small scale, including acrylic and watercolor paintings and sculptures within cigar boxes will be featured in the exhibition Catalyst: The Art of John Gornto presented by the Museum Practice students of the Department of Visual Arts and hosted by Chesapeake Arts Center.
